The Haakons Hoppery is an open for public beer garden, where beer is produced from the scratch. The brewery and the beer tasting terrace are located among the barley, wheat and hops fields.

The fields are farmed using the sustainable agriculture practices in order to prevent the soil depletion.

The new alley and the roadside are planted with the ash trees, which were historically growing in this area.

The name of the region Asker is the plural form of ask which means "ash tree"

The beer garden is a community garden, meaning that it is place where people are coming to go for a walk, study the agriculture and beer production techniques and enjoy the glass of the craft beer.
